Studio Wish List

Well, yesterday was Design on a Dime Friday in the new Seal Beach Studio! Giant shout out and thanks to my Momma for helping me paint, decorate, and for supplying the dimes. ;-) Although I am not quite ready to post some after pics, (I think it may always be a work in progress), I decided to make a studio wish list. These are some items I would love to have for my new miniature dwelling.

LOVE this Whimsy Clock from ModCloth! Luckily it is sold out...

Desperate for this On The Rocks Wall Hook, also from ModCloth...

I am also desperate for a cowhide rug for my tiny dining area, but they are freaking expensive! This one goes for $225 on sale from the Rawhide Company! The Ikea ones are $150!
I thought cows were plentiful...

This is the coolest site, Poster Cabaret. They have some really great prints
like this bike one for only $30!

Not only would this Philippe Starck Victorian Ghost chair be a cool addition, but it gives the illusion of more space! Of course I would need 2 of them and even with major discounts, they are still $129 a piece. You will keep haunting me ghost chairs...

Also, ANY of the pillows by Thomas Paul! Check out his cool website here
or some of his stuff at 2Modern.com.

Seal Beach Studio

Our new street, Ocean Ave (Insert Yellowcard song here)
and yes that is the sand and the ocean at the end of the street!

It's official, Bobby and I are residents of Seal Beach! After trying to relocate to San Diego, we realized that God had other plans for us, but I'm not complaining because we are 1 house away from the beach. Although this new beachy lifestyle comes at a price, space. Our studio is a mere 200 square feet. Although I am a little concerned about where to put my clothes I am so excited about this new design challenge. Here are the before pictures, stay tuned for the design process!

Birthday Part 2

Part 2 of stretching out my birthday! Last Friday I jetted up to Northern California to visit my Bestie and Sister Sue! I flew into beautiful Sacramento, got a rental car, and headed to Old Hangtown aka Placerville. I loved visiting with Tracie and her son Jake. We cruised downtown Placerville and had lunch at the Hey Day Cafe. After enjoying some delicious paninis we headed to T.J. Maxx where I found the perfect army jacket for the season! Pictures coming soon.

After a great day catching up with my best friend, I headed to Calistoga to spend the rest of the weekend with my sister. Saturday was the most beautiful day in the valley so Kimmy and I cruised to Sterling and Clos Pegase on our bikes for some wine tasting. After too much good wine we stopped at Palisades Cafe for some sandwiches and then rushed to Coldwater Creek The Spa. We made it just in time for our Ultimate Pedicures. After the spa we were pretty relaxed and tired so we just enjoyed a movie and La Prima pizza.

Sunday morning we woke up to the rain and headed to Hydro for breakfast. Afterwards we went in to St. Helena for some shopping and sandwiches at Guigni's. After our shopping trip we cruised through the vineyards getting some sister pictures. Kim and I then headed back to her house to get ready for our big night out at Solbar! The food, wine, and atmosphere were amazing, we had such a blast just talking and enjoying our meal. All in all it was a really great weekend and a wonderful birthday! 27 is going to be a good year!

Birthday Part 1

I admit it, I have always LOVED my birthday. I hope this sticks with me as I grow older. At 27 I am still trying to drag it out as long as possible. For me it started last Saturday with a "birthday" lunch at Stone Brewing Company. I had my actual birth day off from work and since there has been a wonderful heat wave here in So Cal my hubby and I headed off to the beach! Nothing beats San Diego beaches in November, they were practically empty. After baking in the sun for a couple of hours Bobby surprised me with dinner at Amelia's on Balboa Island and some of my favorite people! Here are a few shots from the day. Up next, Part 2 in Nor Cal!

A Busy Bee for Halloween

I was a busy bee for this Halloween! Us Klein's decided to hang out with my parents for the weekend. While my dear husband was watching Red Zone (the Charger game was blacked out) I decided to carve pumpkins. It was a beautiful southern California fall day so I decided to carve outside. I totally cheated and bought a pumpkin carving kit complete with designs. I tested out the "easy" owl first and then moved onto the "challenging" spider. I loved the detail work especially since I was rocking out to the Journey station on Pandora the whole time. When I finished I was inspired to find a recipe for the left over pumpkin seeds which I found here. I recommend keeping them in the oven for at least 60 minutes, mine got nice and toasted. Now to enjoy my jack-o-lanterns and tasty pumpkins seeds! Happy Halloween everyone!

Weekend in San Diego

Last weekend Bobby and I got the opportunity to stay at the Andaz Hyatt in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. It is a very hip and cool hotel. I loved the vibe and felt so inspired by the decor. We enjoyed dinner at Quarter Kitchen downstairs and then headed to the rooftop for some dancing! The next morning we took the trolley (only $5 for a day pass!) to Qualcomm stadium for the Charger/Patriots game. It was a heartbreaking loss but we enjoyed the atmosphere and friends. To nurse our wounds Bobby and I went out to dinner with our good friends Brett and Cara at Filippi's in Little Italy, a San Diego landmark. After a delicious meal, a bottle of wine, and some lively conversation we walked over to Extraordinary Desserts for some sweet treats and coffee. Little Italy is such a neat community, I would love to live there someday. All in all a very busy weekend!

Finally Fall!

It feels like it is finally fall! Gloomy weather and pumpkins everywhere. My husband and I were invited by our friends Joel and Karis to head out to Bates Nut Farm. We had a blast looking through all the "Big Macs." Bobby and I found a 56 pounder for my Momma. She loved it. We got out to Valley Center around 11ish and cruised around checking out all the pumpkins. Bobby found us a wheelbarrow so we could load up the pumpkins. After finding the perfect ones we paid for them and went to check out the General Store. It was packed! After some kettle corn we decided to head back home. I can hardly wait to carve up the pumpkins we got. I'm just waiting to get inspired as to how to carve them!
